Hi there! 👋 I'm Sahar, a leader with over 12 years of experience in strategy, research, and design. I'm based in the DC metropolitan area (aka the DMV for those in the know).

I specialize in mixed methods research and service design but also have an extensive background in visual design and illustration. I love it when I get the chance to focus on stakeholder management, alignment, roadmapping, process, and defining team culture. Basically, anytime I get to be strategic and look at the big picture, I'm happy! In my current role, I focus on UX strategy program management.

I love speaking and writing about UX strategy, UX research, and service design. Previously, I was a discussion leader for The Sensemakers Club, where I led monthly conversations on relationship-building and networking. You can find me speaking at various UX-related panels and conferences throughout the year, with organizations like AIGA, Makesensemess, Condens, Useberry, Ladies that UX DC, MICA, etc.

When I'm not talking about the evolution of UX Research or the equalization properties of remote work, you'll find me engaging in creative practices such as writing, painting, illustration, weaving, linocut, etc. I love slipping Community or Fantasy High quotes into everyday conversation and have a soft spot for karaoke, cuddling with my tiny pup and chonky cat, video games, sci-fi/fantasy books, personal style and fashion, and eating/cooking delicious food. As a born-and-raised crabby Marylander 🙋‍♀️🦀, I relocated back to the DC area after spending five years living in Brooklyn (which just beats Seoul by a smidgen as my favorite city in the whole world). While living my best BK life, I frequently hosted guided food tours of my slice of the city (Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and a little Sunset Park and Gowanus to be exact).

I'm always excited to connect with other UX and product folks! 🙌
